PACE Suite 6.3 Supports Windows Services in MSIX and Quickly Converts MSI/App-V to MSIX
PACE Suite, the all-in-one application packaging tool, got a powerful update that enhances app packaging efficiency and simplifies the migration from legacy MSI/App-V formats to MSIX. PACE Suite 6.3 brings significant improvements for a more intuitive and seamless packaging experience.
Support for Windows Services in MSIX
One of the key features in the PACE Suite 6.3 release is the support for Windows Services in MSIX packages. It streamlines the migration of complex legacy applications and makes the transition to MSIX easier. Now, packagers can automatically save Services to the manifest file when creating MSIX packages in Package Generator and view or modify Services in packages through the MSIX editor. This feature also gives better visibility of changes through clear highlighting and Undo-Redo history.
Quick Conversion from MSI/App-V to MSIX
PACE Suite 6.3 helps organizations to get ready for the previously announced End-of-Life for App-V format, effective on April 14, 2026. Quick conversion to MSIX takes just 1-2 minutes for mid-size packages. You can use the conversion wizard for both App-V and MSI formats, which saves you time and doesn’t require any in-depth skills and knowledge.
New Launcher
With many new features added, PACE Suite also got a new Launcher to simplify the navigation through all the functionalities and quickly find any tool you may need. The key enhancements include:
- A more logical menu structure with features clearly visualized
- A Favorites menu to access frequently used features
- Quick access to Recent tasks and files
PACE Suite 6.3 also has an expanded list of supported MSIX fixups, an updated user interface available in both Light and Dark themes, integration with the Windows 11 context menu, a new home screen, and more than 20 technical fixes to ensure a smoother and error-free packaging experience.
